CARES capital funding
CARES loan or grant capital funding is available. Amounts depend on project needs and Scottish Government funding available. Funds may be paid in stages over financial years, with the first stage up to March 2021.
Capital funding can be used for renewable energy measures like installation of solar PV panels, energy storage batteries, or for ancillary measures that support the installation of heat pumps. The installation of renewable heat measures can attract an income through the Renewable Heat Incentive.
For capital projects, CARES grants are expected to form part of the project’s funding package i.e. up to a maximum of 60% with other loans, community shares, and bonds making up the balance. Your Local Development Officer can help you understand the full funding options available.
