Paid Community Support Roles with Scottish Communities CAN

Scottish Communities Climate Action Network has announced an exciting new project to facilitate engagement and behaviour change for 12 community groups in Scotland.

For this project, funded by the Scottish Government, they are seeking:

  • Coaches and mentors to offer support to community projects (paid, 3 days per community project).
  • An evaluator to provide an independent evaluation of the effectiveness of the community engagement project (paid, approx. 6 days).

Scottish Communities CAN have identified particular challenges relating to community engagement that need to be overcome in order for climate action projects to realize their potential.

Through this new project, individuals with community engagement experience and expertise will act as ‘coaches’ and provide additional support to 12 community groups. Coaches can range from grassroots community development workers, to academics or consultants. These coaches will be funded to give a mix of face-to-face, telephone and email support to projects wanting to develop their community engagement and behaviour change work.

An application process to be a participant and receive support will be made available October/early November 2014. For further information on this project, visit
