We've got an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and dynamic Commercial Manager to join our team delivering the Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).

CARES supports communities to develop, own and operate renewable energy projects and this new role will help support the transition of new models of community energy and increase our expertise in more commercially complex projects.

What does the post entail?

You'll lead on the development and delivery of current models, and identify new business and delivery models. You'll also oversee CARES Project Appraisals, including evaluating the commercial strength of project applications and reviewing commercial arrangements for projects being funded.

You'll evaluate revenue streams and review financial viability, plus support applicants through development, construction and operation. Identifying and creating new opportunities for communities to invest in renewable energy or local energy systems is also a key element of the role.

Who are we looking for?

You'll be a dynamic and highly motivated individual with impressive commercial acumen. You'll possess in-depth knowledge of obtaining finance for infrastructure projects, undertaking commercial/financial due diligence and taking projects to a financial close.

You'll be an outstanding communicator with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, whose collaborative and strategic approach will be integral to delivering projects successfully.

You'll have experience and knowledge of the energy sector, including the energy supply and energy systems markets. Knowledge of financing, re-financing and legal models for projects would be an advantage.
