Join us at the CARES Conference 2019 at Perth Racecourse, 8th - 9th May 2019 to explore all things local and community energy, and find out how you can get involved in Scotland's low carbon energy transition.
The Scottish Government's Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) is managed by Local Energy Scotland and offers grants, loans and advice to help you develop and realise your ideas.
Day One of the conference focuses on the big picture and inspiring sustainability - how community and local energy projects can help achieve all three pillars of sustainability and create a greener country. Scotland is showing world leadership in our ambition of 1GW of locally owned generation by 2020 and 2GW by 2030. Join us to hear about the policy behind the action and learn from inspiring local projects. You'll find out about exciting innovations and see how communities can benefit from partnering with larger scale projects.
On Day Two we'll put this into action, with practical learning sessions to help you take your project forward and achieve your own portion of the bigger picture. You'll also hear what funding and support is available from us and other organisations we work with, to help you along the way.
The conference is free to attend and is aimed at communities involved in or looking to explore local energy projects, and those working alongside communities to help make this happen. If you are a community group you can apply for support towards travel and subsistence. As funding is limited this must be logged with Local Energy Scotland before the conference - please contact email@example.com for further information.
We've designed the agenda to be as flexible as possible, you are welcome to attend just one or both days.
