Scottish Government Local Energy Policy Statement: consultation events

The Scottish Government’s draft Policy Statement on Local Energy is now out for consultation. As part of the consultation process a series of workshops are being held to gather the views of a wide variety of stakeholders.

Consultation events will be held:

  •  Tuesday 19 November 11am – 12.30pm, Inverness workshop. Highlands and Islands Enterprise, An Lochran, 10 Inverness Campus, Inverness IV2 5NA. Register for the workshop.
  • Tuesday 19 November, 1pm – 2pm, Islands Webinar workshop. Register for the webinar.
  • Monday 25 November 11am – 1pm, Edinburgh workshop. Energy Saving Trust, Ocean Point 1, 94 Ocean Drive, Edinburgh EH6 6JH. Register for the workshop.
  • Wednesday 27 November, 11am – 1pm, Dumfries workshop. Scottish Enterprise, Ground Floor, Carmont House, The Crichton, Bankend Road, Dumfries, DG1 4TA. Register for the workshop.

The draft Policy Statement sets out the Scottish Government’s vision for future local energy systems and has been developed with guidance form an expert external steering group. However, local energy is a wide-ranging area which impacts on a broad range of different stakeholders and groups, and this consultation is formally seeking views from these stakeholders to ensure that the final document delivers the positive outcomes identified. Responses to the consultation will be used to inform the final version of the Policy Statement.

The consultation closes on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
