Farm Scale Solar Co-operative
Information for farmers
Local Energy Scotland is facilitating a group procurement scheme aimed at making it easier for farmers to benefit from solar power.
Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels can provide a low cost, reliable source of green energy, and the new scheme will allow farms to make savings by joining up and making a bulk purchase of panels and installation services.
Farmers could currently be paid for the electricity their system generates through the UK Government Feed-in Tariff. This incentive closes to new applicants in March 2019, so now is a good time for farmers considering solar PV to act.
The Local Energy Scotland team will be on hand to give you advice and support throughout the process. Local Energy Scotland will facilitate the group procurement process, but interested farms will need to source funding for their own system.
To proceed with the scheme procurement you will need to provide the details requested in this form.
Installers who have met the standards our invitation document are:

The opportunity for installers to respond to the invitation to participate remains open, however please note that we will not be reviewing any new responses until after April 2019.
We will confirm this review date in advance, by notification on this website. This period is to maintain a balance between ensuring competition and being considerate of the efforts of those that have already responded.
Please monitor this website from April 2019 if you would like to respond to the Invitation to Participate closer to the next review date.
This invitation is open to all solar installers that are MCS accredited, work in Scotland and can achieve the standards set out in the invitation document.
